Dress a game level for fall in one evening

Short answer: anchor one porch corner (steps, railing, seat, pumpkins, one warm lantern), extend a fence-and-garden line off it, then ground an orchard with leaf cover and warm light. Keep 1 unit = 1 m with base-center pivots and a LOD0 / LOD1 (~50%) / LOD2 (~25%) chain per prop. The planner below budgets your scene.

Guide date: 2026-09-27. Engines covered: Unity URP, Unreal, Godot (import notes below). Engine docs: Godot LOD · Unity LOD Group · Unreal LOD. Buyer words: "make my prototype look AND sound intentional tonight" and "clean low-poly items that drop straight into my engine with no cleanup pass" (indie-game-devs PLAYBOOK buyer voice + fall-65-prop-pack STRATEGY v2 buyer job, 2026-09-26).

1. Porch anchor steps · railing · seat pumpkins · 1 lantern 2. Fence line pickets · gate · hay · corn 3. Orchard trees · leaves · crates
The one-evening layout: one dressed porch corner, one fence line running off it, one orchard zone behind. Original diagram for this guide; not a screenshot of any pack.

The 3-step recipe

  1. Anchor one porch corner. Steps + railing + pillar + mat set the stage; add one seat (rocking chair or hanging swing), a pumpkin cluster beside the steps, and exactly one warm light (lantern or jar). Light the corner before anything else — one warm pool of light at dusk reads "autumn evening" even with ten props. Keep every prop at y = 0: with 1 unit = 1 m and base-center pivots, props sit on the ground instead of floating.
  2. Extend a fence-and-garden line. Run 2 m pickets and rails away from the porch with one corner post and one gate, then repeat 3–4 prop types along it: pumpkins, hay bales, logs, corn-stalk bundles. Repetition along a line sells the season; scattering twenty different singles reads as clutter. Broken planks and a "hello fall"-style wooden sign go at the gate, where the player's eye stops.
  3. Ground the orchard and light it. Bare + orange trees for silhouette, leaf piles and 10-piece scatter meshes for ground cover, pots / apple crates / harvest buckets for mid-ground interest. Finish with candles, tea-light clusters and a 5 m string-light run for the second and third warm pools. Then group LODs per prefab — LOD0 full detail near the camera, LOD1 (~50% tris) mid-range, LOD2 (~25%) far — so trees never pop as the player walks in.
Conventions that keep the scene clean (check in this order)
RuleValueWhy
Scale1 unit = 1 mPorch, fence and trees share one scale; no rescaling per prop
PivotBase center of each propDrop at y = 0 and props sit; scatter piles sink 2–5 cm
TrianglesLOD0 104–1440 per pieceStylized low-poly, not photoreal — runs anywhere
LOD chainLOD0 full / LOD1 ~50% / LOD2 ~25%Pre-built per piece; group per prefab in-engine
Textures1024 PBR per category (Albedo / Roughness / Normal / AO)One material set per category, not per prop
FormatsFBX for Unity / Unreal, GLB direct for Godot / BlenderFormat-verified GLB magic + FBX sizes; full engine import never run — test one prop first

Import in one line per engine (from the pack README pattern): Unity URP: import FBX, add an LOD Group per prefab (LOD0 / LOD1 / LOD2). Unreal: import FBX or GLB; assign LOD1/LOD2 meshes alongside each LOD0. Godot / Blender: import GLB directly; open the demo .blend scenes in Blender 5.x as layout reference. Honest limit, stated plainly: our files are format-verified (GLB magic bytes, FBX sizes, manifest map, LOD triangle ranges all pass selftest 20/20) — a full UE5/Unity/Godot import was never run in our build room, so import one prop in your engine version before mass-scattering.
