The 3-step recipe
- Canopy plus flower beds. One to two blossom trees plus one branch or sapling for the pink canopy; one 2 m flower bed at the fence base plus one 2 m row along the path, with petal piles and wild patches in a 2–4 m ring around the hero tree, density falling with radius. Use two tones minimum — about 70% pink blossom plus 30% white, or one red tulip plus one yellow daffodil. Grids read procedural; rings read wind. Keep every prop at y = 0: with 1 unit = 1 m and base-center pivots, props sit on the ground instead of floating (sink scatter 2–5 cm).
- Bones plus green filler. Run 2 m fence sections away from the beds with one corner post and one gate or arch, then lean the 2 m trellis on the fence as the back wall. Fill with one hedge run plus one round bush plus grass tufts and a clover patch so no bare soil shows between flowers. Repetition of 3–4 prop types along a line sells the season; scattering twenty different singles reads as clutter. Topiary ball or cone marks the gate where the player's eye stops.
- Anchor and light it. Set the small fountain or bird bath at the center as the life anchor, add the birdhouse on a post at about head height plus one small accent (watering can, beehive, or stepping stones leading in from the front). Light with one warm-white directional at medium intensity plus one soft fill with shadows on — spring reads at bright morning, and a dusk-only rig hides the pastel work. Then group LODs per prefab — LOD0 full detail near the camera, LOD1 (~50% tris) mid-range, LOD2 (~25%) far — so trees never pop as the player walks in.
| Rule | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Scale | 1 unit = 1 m | Canopy, beds, fence and fountain share one scale; no rescaling per prop |
| Pivot | Base center of each prop | Drop at y = 0 and props sit; petal scatter sinks 2–5 cm |
| Triangles | LOD0 100–1494 per piece | Stylized low-poly, not photoreal — runs anywhere |
| LOD chain | LOD0 full / LOD1 ~50% / LOD2 ~25% | Pre-built per piece; group per prefab in-engine |
| Textures | 1024 PBR per category (Albedo / Roughness / Normal / AO) | One material set per category (6 sets = 24 maps), not per prop |
| Formats | FBX for Unity / Unreal, GLB direct for Godot / Blender | Format-verified GLB magic + FBX sizes; full engine import never run — test one prop first |
